Everyone Can Be A LEADER!
Classroom Rules
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
Be Really Safe
Be Ready to Learn
An assertive discipline plan will be used for inappropriate behavior. We will not tolerate disrespect to adults or cruelty to peers.
We will value the feelings of others and respect school property.
"SWITCHING"
We will be switching or rotating classes this year for Social Studies, Science, and Math. Switching classes will help prepare students for their middle school classes. Mrs. Phelps will be teaching three sections of Social Studies. Mrs. Sadowski will teach all of the Science and Mrs. Treat will be teaching Math. When students switch classes they will move together as a whole class and stay with their homeroom classmates.
Grading Scale
It is important to understand that if there is a "3" on your child's report card, they are performing "at grade level." If you have questions about this, please contact your child's teacher.
*4 is Advanced
*3 is Proficient (grade level)
*2 is Progressing
*1 is Emerging
Retakes
Students are welcome to retake assessments. Students must speak with the teacher and schedule a time for the retake. Once the retake is completed the two assessment grades will be averaged and the average grade will be the "new" assessment score.
Recess
Please be sure your child dresses for the weather. Students WILL be going outside for 30 minutes each day, unless it's raining. As for the hot weather, short shorts are NOT allowed. Shoulder straps must be at least 2 inches wide. Students are welcome, and encouraged to have a sweater or sweatshirt to keep in their locker. The temperature of our three classrooms varies, so students should be prepared.
